The BoardScanner-Q (BSQ) adds unrivaled control, decision diagnostics and product flexibility to the Sawmill or Planermill. It's the evolution of Raptor’s geometric board scanning developed to tackle the trimming requirements of finished green or dried lumber. Colour vision/tracheid analysis enables the BSQ to accurately detect surface defects such as knots, rot, bark, pith, shake, stain, and pitch pockets. A lumberline colour camera views the end of the board to analyze ring count and shape to determine pith location, and relative density. AI software is used to recognize down gradable defects that are incorporated into the solution logic.
